Hello, I am Lisa, the founder of Divine Doulas. After a 33 year career as a Registered Nurse and midwife I wanted to focus my knowledge and expertise on nurturing women and their partners through one of the most incredible and vulnerable moments in their lives. We feel education is power and the more informed you are the more confident you will be moving into your labour, birth and adjusting to family life.

A Doula is a trained professional who is experienced in supporting couples through birth. As your dedicated birth Doula, we are invested in you and your family under the care of your health professional (G.P Midwife, Obstetrician, Midwife clinic, public care). Doula is Greek for “mothers servant” and throughout history these were the “knowing” women who gathered to assist a mother during labour and birth. These same women then nurse her through recovery from childbirth, assisting with breast feeding and passing on their valuable knowledge and depth of experience in parenting and care for newborns.
